Volunteers Appreciation

Redstone Arsenal honors organizations and their members annually with the Volunteers Appreciation Luncheon and Helping Hands Awards Ceremony at the Redstone Officers and Civilians Club (ROCC).  Lunch is provided followed by presentations for each organizations nominated individual(s).  A DVD presentation of each organizations activities are displayed throughout the ceremony.

Each year, our Chapter nominates a deserving Chapter member for the Helping Hands Award.  The award consists of a certificate, pin, coin and certificates for MWR facilities.  All Chapter members are invited to attend the appreciation luncheon and ceremony.

Below are the current and previous Chapter Helping Hands honorees.


2010

The Redstone Arsenal Volunteers Helping Hands luncheon was held on April 20, 2010.  Chapter member, Alfred "Al" R. Reed was the Chapter nominee for 2010.  Mr. Reed, was honored for the time and effort he has spent as a volunteer, supporting our chapter and community.  Several of our members and some of their wives were able to attend.

2009

The Redstone Arsenal Volunteers Helping Hands luncheon was held on April 21, 2009.  Chapter Secretary, Johnie M. Keeter Sr. was the Chapter nominee for 2009.  Mr. Keeter, was honored for the time and effort he has spent as a volunteer, supporting our chapter and community.  Several of our members and some of their wives were able to attend.

2008

The Redstone Arsenal Volunteers Helping Hands luncheon was held on April 28, 2008.  Chapter Vice-President (Retired Affairs), Ivy "Joe" Shiver Jr., was the Chapter nominee for 2008.  Mr. Shiver, was honored for the time and effort he has spent as a volunteer, supporting our chapter and community.  Several of our members and some of their wives were able to attend.
