Scholarship Providers

The Redstone Arsenal Chapter of the US Army Warrant Officers Association has set up its own committee to award at Financial Scholarships to deserving young people in the Tennessee Valley.  The 2008 program is underway and applicants can get more information HERE.

Since 2004, we have given scholarships each year and awarded thousands of dollars in awards.  We look forward to continuing this great program.

Ramp Builders

In April, 2006, the Chapter was lucky enough to find a worthy project for our efforts.

It seems a local disabled Veteran, battlefield injured (shot through the leg) in Vietnam, was having trouble getting in and out of his house.  The Disabled Veterans Association was willing to pay for the materials if we would build the Ramp.

We had so much fun, and felt so uplifted, we now do Monthly Ramp builds for C.A.S.A of Madison County

Christmas Bear Volunteers

Would you like to be Winnie the Pooh, or Tigger?  Maybe Clifford, or maybe you'd rather help with the Moon Bounce or the Slides.  We help out at Operation Christmas Bear each year.  Follow this link for more info.

Bell Ringing at Wal-Mart for the Salvation Army               http://www1.salvationarmy.org/

The Redstone Arsenal Chapter of the Warrant Officers Association Rings the Bells for the Salvation Army at the Wal-Mart on University Drive in Huntsville, AL every Christmas.  Of course, we do this on a no-fee basis. Most Bell-Ringers that you see are paid for their services but we are privileged to volunteer our time and efforts over a one-weekend period to Ring the Bells and waive any fee allowing more money to be used for the needy.  We participate with 4 ringers per hour (2 entry doors) for 10 hours.

Veteran's Day Parade - Huntsville, Alabama

Families, members and friends are honored and privileged to take place in and volunteer for the Huntsville, Alabama Veteran's Day Parade.

Acting as Marshals, we get out there behind the scenes and line up the vehicles, tell them where to go and what to do... if we didn't do it, who would?!  We offer traffic control and marshaling services at no cost to the City of Huntsville. We are Veterans honoring Veterans.

MWR Entertainment Events - Redstone Arsenal, Alabama

http://www.redstonemwr.com/

The Redstone Arsenal MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) is second-to-none in bringing quality entertainment to the soldiers of Redstone Arsenal and the folks in Northern Alabama.  Each year, as a fund-raiser, about 20 - 30 members of the Redstone Chapter of USAWOA work as gate control and security personnel to keep the partiers safe and having a good time. We were compensated for this event so we can go out and do other great things for our community.

Drivers for The Big Spring Jam, Huntsville, AL

How could Huntsville, Alabama have a Party without us?? Well, they can't!  Huntsville, looking for competent, safe escorts for the Stars chose the Redstone Chapter of the US Army Warrant Officers Association to be drivers / escorts for the stars. We pick them up from the Airport, deliver them to their Hotel or to the nightly venues.  We do this at no cost to the City of Huntsville because it helps the City and.. well.. it's just plain fun!

Volunteers for the Baseball Field Cleanup on Redstone Arsenal, AL
